Stories of people that ADRA Ukraine team hears every day
Kateryna Antonivna was born in Zaporizke Village, Dnipropetrovsk Region. The senior woman lives there with her husband. Both of them struggle with health issues, so Kateryna Antonivna regularly uses the social buses in order to get from her village to the town of Apostolove and buy medicines for herself and her spouse. She also uses this chance to buy some food and visit a doctor, since some medicines require prescription.
The woman is sincerely grateful for these social transportation services provided by ADRA Ukraine with the support of ADRA Korea. The Korean partners have provided the bus for social transportation as part of the project supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and ADRA Germany. Thanks to this service, Kateryna Antonivna does not worry that she and her husband may be once left without access to vital medicines, since the drivers regularly arrive in the village. Moreover, the municipal transportation is too expensive to be afforded by the senior couple, while social buses provided by ADRA Ukraine are free-of-charge, so everyone may travel to a nearby town. Kateryna Antonivna is sincerely grateful for this assistance and care for everyone, including the residents of the small remote village.
