On June 21, a charity concert “Mission: to Live,” organized by The Adventist Development and Relief Agency in Ukraine (ADRA Ukraine), took place in the Left-Bank Spiritual Center of the city of Kyiv (Seventh-day Adventist Church building). The event was aimed at raising funds in support of war veterans. As a result, it was possible to collect UAH 55, 880.

The audience was presented by the Kyiv Chamber Choir under the direction of Karina Yevtushok, as well as soloists and vocalists: Vyacheslav Zhyla, Vitaly Priymuk, Eduard and Maryna Eremenko, Lina Porkhun and Maya Bogdanyuk. Instrumental numbers were performed by Alina Mriya (violin) and Berehovy brothers (panflutes, guitar).

As the host of the event Serhii Stepaniuk noted, the name of the concert symbolizes a new goal that veterans after the war should find for themselves.

During the event, the head of ADRA Ukraine Leonid Rutkovskyi presented a program of assistance to veterans named – “Mission: to Live.” He asked: “Why this program? We understand that among Ukrainians, even after the end of the war, some will be veterans, while others will have veterans in their immediate circle. We have a debt to these people – and now we can give it back. “

The program of assistance to veterans includes physical rehabilitation, psychological support, career guidance, assistance with employment, as well as support for children of veterans: gifts, rest in camps, educational centers for catch-up training.

Konstyantyn Sych, Development Manager of ADRA Ukraine, added: “We have already signed four memorandums with hospitals that are the first to accept veterans from the front. We will not wait until we collect a large amount – there is an urgent need for basic things: bandages, gauze. Therefore, even a small contribution matters. “

Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Volodymyr Borovyi prayed for veterans, recalling that in difficult times it is important to preserve justice, mercy and trust in God.

Within a month after the concert, all donations made through the ADRA Ukraine website will be directed by the charitable organization to the “Mission: to Live” veterans support program.
